Vanquish Reduces Belly Fat

Folds of fat on the sides can be removed permanently without surgery. For example, with the new Vanquish procedure, which uses radio waves to destroy fat cells.

The process of cell destruction does not affect the skin or muscle, so that it is very safe and effective. Experts call Vanquish a breakthrough in the industry of non-invasive methods to fight obesity. The procedure appeared in the price list of some American beauty clinics at the beginning of this month. So far, it provides the correction of abdomen and waist zones only. Clinical studies have shown Vanquish can reduce waist volume by a few centimeters.

David McDaniel, professor of clinical dermatology at the West Virginia University School of Medicine says it is fast, efficient, and comfortable. He has been helping people lose weight for over 30 years and it has always been very hard. Progress in weight loss went with very small steps. But Vanquish is a major technological breakthrough, he adds.

A special panel is fixed above the patient’s abdomen; it heats the skin to 101 °C, and the fat beneath – to 120 °C – for 30 minutes. In the first days after the procedure, skin redness and swelling can be observed, and patients are advised to drink plenty of fluids before and after each session. Along with the water, dead fat cells will be removed from the body.

In the U.S., the cost of one Vanquish procedure for weight loss ranges from $450 to $800. Studies have shown that this gadget kills up to 60% of fat cells, with significant results after 2 weeks already.
